IELTS will test you in the following areas:
- Reading in English
- Writing in English
- Listening to English
- Speaking in English
IELTS consists of 4 sections:
Reading
•Time Limit: 60 minutes
•Content: 3 passages to read and answer
•Questions: 40 questions from the passages
Listening
•Time Limit: 40 minutes
•Content: Lectures, classroom discussions, everyday conversations
•Questions: 40 questions from the dialogues
Speaking
•Time Limit: 11-14 minutes
•Content: General questions about yourself, 1-2 minute speech on a topic given by examiner, detailed discussion about the topic
•Questions: 3 sections, number of questions varies
Writing
•Time Limit: 60 minutes
•Content: Describing information from a graph/diagram/table/chart, short essay
•Questions: 2 questions
Approximate test duration: 2 hours 45 minutes
Total Score: 9.0 (score will be reported in whole or half bands)
