DSE Result Release Day - Study USA Seminar

Sometimes, even when you have prepared well enough for an exam, you just didn’t perform as you expected and the low score makes you feel sad or depressed.  It is ok to feel bad for a short period,  afterall, you are still young.  But don’t let the negative feelings dwell on you for too long,

Not doing well in DSE doesn’t make you any less intelligent or less capable of achieving success in life than those who got better results. Just think that the failure you had in the DSE exam was just another step towards success.

In fact you can end up on top with the right attitude. Accept your mistakes and learn how to approach problems differently. Listen to various options available to you.

Talk to your parents and if your family can afford to support you to study overseas, going to the USA is a good choice as we have plans that cater to various family budget. So please come to our USA College Fair on July 10, Wednesday at the Holiday Golden Mile Hotel in TST from 11am to 4:40pm and find out for yourself.

Option 1. a two year budget of around HK$500,000

Study at an USA Community College for two years and apply back to the Hong Kong Universities via Non-JUPAS with your Associate Degree and your GPA.

Advantages – you will gain the exposure in an overseas environment,  learn together with students from all over the world and the local American students.

Option 2. budget of around HK$1,000,000

Again, start with a Community College, then instead of going to the expensive Universities, choose the more affordable State Universities in US.

Option 3. budget of close to HK$2,000,000

A> You can start off with a Liberal Arts College which provides a better study environment than community colleges as they provide dormitory and a group of dedicated professors. After that, you can choose the universities you would like to transfer to.

B> You can choose a Four year University, Litz has some quality State Universities for you even though you didn’t do well in the DSE.

If the DSE candidate misses the exam, it does not mean that it is related to being able to get into university. Kitty shares an unforgettable case: "There was a student who had only 3 or 4 points in the exam, and the English subject failed. Finally, he enrolled in the community college in Washington State because of his poor English ability. I will take an English class for half a year before I officially start a community college course. After completing the course for one and a half years, I will be admitted to the University of California and the University of Washington. Students with better English will not have to take an English class. In other words, it will take two years. Can complete the course, such as the Peninsula College study period is only one and a half years, you can have a college dream."

The United States offers more

In the top 20 universities in the world, the United States has 16 universities, which shows that the country's academic level is high. And another selling point is the diversity of subject choices, from traditional business, economics, computer science, engineering courses, to popular design in recent years, language education, crime and justice research, hotel management, pharmacy, physical therapy, etc. A student who can satisfy different interests. Dear candidates for DSE, if you are interested in going to the United States for further studies, you can't miss the upcoming American Admissions Seminar at the American Study Centre in Lis, and you will have an admission interview on the spot; Everyone remembers to bring the transcripts and related documents, and there will be a good harvest lectures in minutes.

Washington State has scale

The community college system in Washington State is the largest in the United States, with more than 30 colleges and universities in Seattle and adjacent areas. After completing the first two years of community college courses, students can progress to Washington University and various state universities. In addition, the Washington State Community College's High School Completion Program is suitable for students over the age of 16 or who do not apply for DSE. It is very cost-effective to take secondary and university courses at the same time.

Community college is flexible

The American academic system is flexible, and the sixth-year students can go to the University Pathway to adapt to the local campus life. Universities offering such courses are the University of South Florida, the University of Massachusetts, Oregon State University, the University of New Hampshire, and Northeastern University. The annual fee for this type of preparatory class is about HK$300,000 to HK$450,000.
