Olney Friends School is a small, co-educational boarding and day school affiliated with the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers). Located in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains in Barnesville, Ohio. 

Students Profile

Students come from around Ohio, around the country, and around the world to study the college prep curriculum. International students from 10 different countries make up 45% of our student body.


The integrated humanities curriculum was designed with a recognition of the relationship that exists between literature, history and religion. With the renovated Science Center, the school places a strong emphasis on the fields of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics) subjects. The School is also a SAT Testing site for exams in October and May.


Environmental Science, Humanities, Mathematics, Spanish, Technology & Sports. Also include standard college preparatory courses such as advanced classes, fine arts, and a variety of electives.

At Olney

Students learn to study the world and their impact on it - through each other (students from all over the world), reading history and novels and poems and essays, discussion, writing, working on the farm, hiking through the woods, playing the guitar, swimming in the lake, camping, dancing.
