Greensboro – About the city

It is the state’s third largest city and is a dynamic city, offering a splendid setting for a university. Greensboro has been rated by a national survey as the nation’s second most attractive place to live, based on climate, health, transportation, crime rate and prosperity.

Situated midway between Washington, DC, and Atlanta, Georgia, Greensboro is one hour’s drive from the Research Triangle (including Chapel Hill), two hours from the mountains, and about three hours from the Outer Banks and other beaches. In return, UNCG has enriched Greensboro with its widely diversified academic community for more than one hundred years.
