High Mowing School

High Mowing School

Features

High Mowing is the only Waldorf boarding and day high school. It offers a four year Waldorf core curriculum. Waldorf Education brings age-appropriate content and methods to each stage of a student’s development. By meeting the students where they are in their journey, and by infusing art into every academic setting and incorporating music and movement into the broader curriculum, the Waldorf approach offers a holistic, compassionate education for the 21st century. In addition to the Four-Year Core program, High Mowing’s Signature Programs focus on activity which is uniquely human: understanding the interaction between human beings and nature in the forests and wilderness in the Naturalist Program; witnessing and participating in the transformation of the natural world in the fields and gardens in the Horticulture Program; and growing as creative and performing artists in the art studios, stages, and kitchen. The school offers an arts-infused, arts-rich curriculum, immersed in and surrounded by nature, which enables students to find their passions and gives them the tools they need to take them into the world – to college and beyond. Our graduates are confident, creative individuals pursuing their passions and making the world a better place.
